Congratulations to all who participated in the OMD Transition Year Marketing Campaign Programme 
 
 
 
 
 
We are delighted to announce that the St. Mary's team of Colum Corcoran,
Conor Flynn, Robert Murphy and Jack Hogan won the OMD Transition Year
Marketing Campaign Programme which ran from May 24th to May 28th
inclusive. On Monday they were given a brief by the Marketing Director
of Sony to develop a multi faceted campaign for Playstation. This
involved undertaking market research, developing a theme and strap-line
for advertising, the production and recording of a radio advertisement,
the development and production of a print and outdoor media ad., the
development of an internet strategy and a presentation of their campaign
to a team of judges on Friday. During the week they visited RTE, Google,
the Daily Mail, Spin 102 and 98fm, an ad agency, a cinema advertising
agency, took part in focus groups and finally developed a power point
presentation with the assistance of OMD. They worked very hard on it
(which was great to see).

 

All the while they were in competition with two other teams of
transition students from Wesley College. The standard of all the
presentations was high and the judges were very impressed. The St Mary's
team won due to their clear interpretation of the brief and the
underlying theme of their campaign allied with the creative ideas they
came up with.
